Will the 2012 Nissan GT-R Have 500+ Horsepower?

The rumor going around the car world is that the new 2012 Nissan GT-R will have at least 500 horsepower. Like any good rumor, true facts are locked away somewhere and Nissan may be the only one with the keys.

Nissan has revealed very little about the car, but GTRblog.com has cited a reliable source close to Nissan saying the 500 horsepower rumor is true.

There are a few small known facts about the car. The chassis will be rebuilt to include stronger support members along the cowl panel, new lower suspension control arms, repositioned stabilizer bar and altered shock absorber angles.  These changes should allow for more stability and road feedback.

Revisions are being made to the wheels, brakes and tires. The new brake rotors will be 390mm compared to the older 380mm ones.  There will also be two different sets of tires being offer, the Bridgestone RE07oR R2 and the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT.

There have also been some aerodynamic alterations which include a revised front bumper, rear diffuser and rear underspoiler reducing drag while increasing downforce as much as 10 percent.

Nissan should be unlocking the secret 2012 GT-R within the next year so keep your ears open. Until then, come down to Lokey Nissan on 27758 U.S. Hwy 19 North, Clearwater, FL 33761 to browse all the latest Nissan models.
